Code of Conduct & Safety

Last updated: Fri,  25 Jan, 2019

We want you to enjoy your stay or event at Barnutopia Glamping, Weddings & Events. You can expect clean, comfortable and functional accommodation with light, power, heating and free Wi-Fi. Our glamping units are are tall and you don’t have to crawl around as you might in a tent. And you get to sleep in a real bed.

Barnutopia is a farm. You walk across grass and unpaved tracks. The terrain is uneven in places and when it rains it may be muddy. Bring wellies and other sturdy shoes. We also have animals. Please comply with any requests or orders we give relating to safety on the property and around our animals.

Keeping the Shared Facilities and Units Clean and Tidy

The yard, barns, kitchen shack, cookhouse, TV lounge and bathroom are shared by all guests. We keep them clean but please aim to clean up after yourselves after you use the facilities.

Outdoor shoes should to be removed before entering the glamping accommodation, so please bear that in mind when selecting footwear for your holiday. Bring slippers to wear in the glamping units for optimal comfort.

Please keep the units clean and tidy and remove your rubbish.

Part-Site/Individual Glamping Bookings

Barnutopia not the place for raucous parties or loud music unless you book the whole site. The site is located in a quiet rural location near to a small Welsh village. It is a great base for walking and other outdoor activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing or canoeing.  If your group members are well behaved and comply with noise requirements, they are most welcome to come enjoy the tranquil beauty of Barnutopia.  Even then, we have to be mindful of our distant neighbours.

Noise

Loud music is not permitted outside the glamping units. This includes radios, electronic devices with speakers and karaoke machines. You may play music quietly inside your unit or outside as long as it does not disturb other guests, the animals or distant neighbours. QUIETLY is the operative word.

If you hire the venue for exclusive use for a wedding or event, noise requirements are relaxed. We expect you to party, but you cannot blast music at concert levels across the valley.

Wood for campfire & cooking

Glampers may use reasonable quantity of wood for campfires during the evenings. There are no predatory wild animals likely to attack your yurt in Shropshire and North Wales and so we do not supply unlimited quantities of wood to keep your fire constantly ablaze. Tent campers may purchase firewood for campfires but need to ensure that no grass or vegetation is damaged.

YOU are responsible for the safety of yourself and your children around the fire and at all times.

Please note the position of the fire safety points and fire assembly point on arrival so that you know where to go and what to do if your fire gets out of hand.

Responsibility for Children

YOU are responsible for your children at all times. Every effort is made to ensure the property is as safe as possible, but it is a farm with animals, equipment, sharp corners and unmanicured terrain. Please do not let your children wander unsupervised.

Smoking

Barnutopia operates a NO SMOKING policy within the glamping units and shared facilities in line with UK legislation. Guests who do not comply with this no smoking policy will be charged £100 to include the cost of cleaning all soft furnishing to remove the odour of tobacco.

Behaviour

We reserve the right to determine acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of guests and may request corrective action if noise or behaviour is deemed unacceptable. Failure to comply with our requests, may result in immediate termination of the booking without the right to refund or compensation.

Comments and complaints

Any comment or complaint regarding the stay and facilities should be made to Barnutopia at the time of visit so that the matter may be addressed immediately.

Statutory requirements

Barnutopia is subject to statutory controls, including those relating to fire, health, hygiene and safety. These must be strictly observed by guests.

We take every care to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable holiday, but cannot be held liable for any accidents or consequential loss.

The Farm

Guests are welcome to wander around the farm yard. We are happy for children to explore but their safety is your responsibility and no liability can be accepted for any accidents.
