Thank you to everyone who joined in creating our Site Before Christmas poem on Facebook in the run-up to Christmas 2024. We had some amazing rhymes and I picked the ones I felt fit best. I put all 24 pics in a post and an album on Facbook.

The Site Before Christmas at Barnutopia 2024

‘Twas the site before Christmas, the snow drifting down,
Covering the yurts like white feather down. (Sarah C)

The yurts appeared cosy, with windows aglow,
Waiting for Santa and reindeer and snow. (Tanja K)

Marshmallows toasting over flickering flames,
Browning and bubbling, no two are the same. (Stephanie F)

The event barn was lovely with baubles and bows,
Twinkling and sparkling as the evening light glows. (Stephanie F)

The sheep in their shelter were cosy and warm,
Hunkering down from the first winter storm. (Sarah H)

The pussycats posing for pics in the snow,
Listening for Santa … singing ho ho ho! (Rachel E)

Yurt, cabins and stables with cosy warm beds,
Perfect for resting your tired, weary heads. (Stephanie F)

The fairies and elves were planning some pranks,
Rolling the snowmen down the snow banks. (Chloe R)

Dressed up for a party, Eddie the elk,
Smart in his hat made of fine needle felt. (Sarah H)

Toast was surprised by the mischievous mouse,
Who scampered and squeaked all round the house. (Stephanie F)

The Christmas Eve magic was felt all around,
From the high starry sky to the soft snowy ground. (Stephanie F)

The animals waiting for cuddles and treats,
Warm in their stalls, Christmas socks on their feet. (Sarah H)

Friday the 13th might be unlucky for some,
But don’t despair, have that tea with some rum. (Sarah C)

The breathtaking countryside frozen in time,
As the carpet of snow fades, revealing grass green as lime. (Ozzy D)

Memories lingering from a time long ago,
Threads of the past in the twilight’s soft glow. (Katrina B)

The creatures were curious to see the snowman,
But who said it’s male? It could be a ‘wo’man. (Elaine K)

The last campfires flickered, guests said their goodnights,
Headed to their yurts to sleep warm and tight. (Chloe R)

The yurts warm and inviting as nightfall drew near,
Tucked up in our beds, maybe reindeer we’ll hear. (Stephanie F)

The Dutch barn lights twinkling long after guests sleep,
With snacks on the table for Santa to eat, (Katrina B)

The luminous moon peeking out from the clouds,
Frosty landscape enveloped in a glittering shroud. (Sarah H)

The trees silhouetted against the night sky,
Stand tall and silent as the stars drift by. (Stephanie F)

Finally guests were all tucked up and asleep,
No sound to be heard, not even a peep. (Katrina B)

When all of a sudden the sound of sleigh bells ,
Can be heard in the distance, a song of Noels. (Sarah H)

With a woosh and a wave Santa cried with delight,
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night. (Stephanie F)
