Barnutopia’s yurt field is at the heart of our luxury glamping site and venue. The grassed area is surrounded by five of the nine yurts and cabins onsite. There are stunning views of the Shropshire and Powys hills in every direction.
How Things Have Changed
Since opening in 2015, the yurt field has seen a few changes. Barnutopia opened in June of that year with three Mongolian yurts, Yurt Bronwyn, Yurt Carianne and Yurt Nanny Iris. Cabin Connie followed in 2017 and Ranch House Ray in 2018. In 2020, after five years of caring for the canvas yurts, we designed and built three wooden octayurts to replace Bronwyn, Carianne and Nanny Iris. Much as we loved the look of the canvas yurts, they are not designed for British weather and in the winter it was extremely difficult to keep them clean and fresh. The wooden yurts are a delight for guests and Barnutopia staff. In addition to the yurts and cabins on the yurt field, there are four other glamping units and a campsite at Barnutopia. Yurt Axana, Bunkhouse Bethan, Stable Stephanie and Tiny House Tamise.
Barnutopia Glamping & Venue
Barnutopia is a luxury glamping site and outdoor wedding and event venue with an event barn licensed for marriages. Often, wedding ceremonies take place on the yurt field or down in the dell followed by the legalities in the long event barn or the farmhouse dining room. The first wedding happened in 2017 and was televised for a prime time ITV show Give It A Year hosted by Baronness Karren Brady. Barnutopia was highlighted as a British business success story. Since then, the business has continued to grow and flourish and weathered COVID in 2020.
