Gay marriage has been possible in Britain since 29 March 2014. Civil partnerships have been possible since March 2004. We had our first gay wedding at Barnutopia in June 2018. Currently, the next is booked for August 2019, but we have availability between now and then.
It feels awkward to call out gay marriage, but we need folks to know that we don’t give a hoot what your preference is. If you want to get married, you are welcome at Barnutopia. Actually, we do care. We think same-sex couples who want to tie the knot should be afforded the same courtesy and respect as opposite-sex couples. We were horrified to learn from one couple that another venue did not allow marriage ceremonies between same-sex couples in the main wedding room. They had use a smaller anteroom. I mean, WHAT? I feel embarrassed for that venue.
