It’s hard to imagine there’s anything to look forward to in 2020. I’m writing this during the government March/April lockdown period designed to minimise the spread of COVID-19. When the lockdown is lifted or modified, it may be nice to have a countryside holiday or gathering in your future.
Something to Look Forward to in 2020
As of 10 April 2020 new reservations at Barnutopia in 2020 may be secured for 10% of the booking value with the balance payable 2 weeks before arrival. If the reservation cannot go ahead because of government restrictions, the booking fee is fully refundable or the value can be held on account and applied to a future booking up to the end of April 2021. Hopefully, this gives guests something to look forward to in 2020 without worrying what happens if their booking cannot go ahead. 10 Barnutopia things to look forward to in 2020
1. Barnutopia’s New Octayurts
Installed in February 2020, our new octayurts replaced 3 of our canvas yurts (we kept the fourth, yurt Axana). They retain the character of Mongolian yurts but they are more secure, weather-proof and easier to keep clean and fresh.
2. Breakfast or Half-Board
The Barnutopia breakfast is available to order at any time. Some of our glamping packages included half-board (breakfast and suppers).
3. Campfires and Toasted Marshmallows
No stay at Barnutopia is complete without a campfire. We try to keep marshmallows on hand at all times, but in case we run out you might like to bring a bag of your own. Some may think this is the best thing to look forward to in 2020.
4. Countryside and Views
Barnutopia is located on the Welsh border surrounded by the stunning Shropshire and Powys hills.
5. Walking and Hiking
There are lovely walks directly from the site. A little further afield, Oswestry town and the surrounding area are rich in history and things to do for children and families.
6. Scavenger Hunt
Ask us about our scavenger hunt, which takes guests on a 2-mile hike along the lanes and countryside around Barnutopia.
7. Donkeys and Other Animals
In addition to Andi and Sassy, our donkeys, we have horses, pigs, dogs and cats.
8. Wedding or Gathering
We hope our summer venue reservations go ahead as planned. Still a few dates weekends available in autumn.
9. Event Catering
We can cater for groups (minimum 10) and weddings or events for up to 120 guests.
10. Half-Board Glamping Packages
Currently, we are taking reservations for single parent takeovers in August and October, bonfire weekend in November and our New Year Glamping package.
